Guest guest
In response to Darlene's message on vitamin B12: Although my symptoms are very similar to Chiari I recently found out that I do not have it. However, I have problems in my neck region that are very serious and do mimic Chiari. I've also been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and thyroid problems. At times I've been anemic. Therefore I find this list to be very helpful and have enjoyed reading your emails although I have remained in the back ground. I have a very knowledgeable and open minded general practitioner. One thing he has allowed me to do is take vitamin B 12 shots at my own discretion. I have a prescription for a vial of B12 and I buy my own syringes and my husband gives me a shot of B12 whenever I feel I need one. Sometimes I take them every 3 or 4 days, sometimes farther apart. I did ask my GP if taking them every 3 days would cause an overdose and he said no. I feel they have definitely helped me with my fatigue problem. Doesn't make it go away or cure it by any means but it does genuinely seem to help me. I would recommend others to look into this as something that might be useful to them. I just thought I'd share this as I have not heard of anyone else with chronic fatiuge problems being allowed to take B12 shots so often. I also feel the compression I have on my spinal cord from these neck issues are also causing fatigue issues and thought this might be helpful to someone else on this list.
