Guest guest
Betty, of course you should be able to see better after cataract surgery. If you don't, that means the surgeon botched the job. Of course the artificial lens that is inserted in place of the natural one can not focus, so you will still have to wear glasses either for distance or for close vision. I chose IOL's for distance, since I had always been extremely nearsighted and never could see without glasses anything further than a few inches from my eyes. Now I can see how to drive without glasses, but I wear glasses for reading. For computer work, I wear reading glasses from the drug store. Have you scheduled your cataract surgeries yet? If not, be very particular in choosing a surgeon. You need one who has done hundreds of the surgeries and is in great demand because he/she is so good. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Betty.  I am 70 years old and my eyes were done last year. I am still thrilled with the outcome.  I wish you the best with your eye surgery, and hope your eyesight is much improved. Lots of good luck to you.  Hugs,  Barbara
