Guest guest
: How can you be certain that the dr did forget the cardio part of the exam, perhaps he really did not examine it? I could understand if a pulmonologist did not dictate the respiratory portion of an exam. I have dr's who dictate the same thing all the time, except there's one time he/she doesn't. I would leave it out of the dictation, not leave a blank, but add a note to ask about it. It's a pain, I know the dr does it that way every other time, but the dr's can be really snippy and treat you like you are trying to tell them what to do. Some drs just cannot see that they could ever have made an error and would dismiss your comments as " not knowing what you are talking about. " I have found it's best to tippy toe around the md's egos and let them think that they can no dictate something if they want to. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I've just been on the receiving end of the rantings of a dr when I " presumed " he left something out of a dictation. BTW he did leave out the extremity exam, and on every other report from then after, he included the extremity exam. But he would never admit to me or anyone else that he really did accidentally leave it out and made a mistake on one report. Lehman
