Guest guest
, As the weeks progressed, the injection site reaction got larger, hotter, and harder to deal with. She prescribed a prednisone taper to get the inflammation down and after the 3rd softball size reaction, stopped Enbrel altogether. She said that she did not like that side effect and that there was a possibility that at one time, ALL of my injection sites could " reactivate " leaving me to be one big hive! I also used a cortisone cram that did nothing for the ISR. The Prednisone helped but I still have discoloration where my injection sites were.... My daughter has been taking Enbrel for 6 months with no problems whatsoever! Make sure you tell him EVERYTHING... The feeling better at first and then as time went on, it lessened. Also about the welts. Take pics if need be, Good luck! Did he say why that probably happened? The reason I ask it because the first 2 weeks I didn't have not even a sign that I gave myself an injection. The last two injection sights have made a big red whelp about the size of a 1/2 dollar but not painful. I see my doc the end of next week so one more shot before I see him. I feel like they never want to discontinue stuff just tell you to suck it up and keep going. So frustrating.
