Guest guest
, From the American Chiropractic Association (excerpt from " What is Chiropractic? " ): The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal. http://www.acatoday.org/level2_css.cfm?T1ID=13 & T2ID=61 Follow the link to the " master plan " to see how many times the ACA uses the word " manipulation. " Brainwashing is not part of the relationship between good rheumatologists and their informed patients. I never claimed that RA treatments are " natural. But it is not a " manipulation " of the spine either. It is an " adjustment " . To manipulate the cervical spine would be to move, arrange or to manage shrewdly or deviously, or to tamper with or falsify it. Chiropractors adjust the cervical spine. They move it to make it fit and make it work correctly. They settle the spine and arrange it to free it from differences or descrepancies. Medical doctors have chosen to use the word maniuplation for their benefit, but in reality, prescription drugs are more manipulating than adjusting. > Everyone is going to believe what they want, but for me, I do not feel bad for those with RA who do not seek chiropractic help. They are just brain washed by MD's and will probably take dozens of pills a day only to find they are still in pain plus have internal problems as well. As far as " natural " . Adjusting the spine to help it function the way it is suppose to is far more natural than any man-made drug I am taking. > (musiclvr3237)
