Guest guest
, I can't help but wonder if you would find it easier or at least a good baby step, to take just ONE 'bad' food and make peace with it? This legalization process is scary and requires effort, but most of us have conquered our 'monsters' doing this. I slayed the chocolate dragon and I bet you can do it too Best to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > I dont know that I can even > remember a time when I was truly > FREE to eat what I wanted without > being yelled at or shamed. > > Even now I am having a hard time > giving myself permission to eat what I > want to eat. > > There is so much BAD and GOOD > that I have ascribed to foods that > it is hard to relax and give myself > the freedom that I KNOW I need to have. > > in AZ >
Guest guest
Katcha I had a baked - well " microwaved " potato today I cant remember the last time I had one! I dont know that I felt bad but just strange, like somebody was gonna tell on me... Been wanting a potato for a while but just bought some today. I did have a hard time the rest of the night though and went crazy with a box of lucky charms cereal, doritios and some chocolate candy - I think I am punishing myself for NOT being able to " get over " food and needing IT so often and for SO many years. in AZ > > > > I dont know that I can even > > remember a time when I was truly > > FREE to eat what I wanted without > > being yelled at or shamed. > > > > Even now I am having a hard time > > giving myself permission to eat what I > > want to eat. > > > > There is so much BAD and GOOD > > that I have ascribed to foods that > > it is hard to relax and give myself > > the freedom that I KNOW I need to have. > > > > in AZ > > >
Guest guest
, Its wonderful that you ate that potato. I hope you enjoyed it to the max. I know I tended to gobble down the special foods that I had set 'off limits' for myself when I first started eating these. It does take time and I recommend that you read about legalizing in the IE book and/or Overcoming Overeating. Eating ONE potato ONE time is a good start, but to over come any negative reactions you harbor for potatoes, you will need to eat these as often as your body wants them and try your best to savor each taste too. If you do this, you will come to eat potatoes as FOOD instead of feeling like you are being 'bad' to eat them. Best of luck and keep up the good work!
