Guest guest
Hi everyone! It's been about 4 or 5 months since my last post, but so much has happened since then. Last time I posted, I was job hunting as I had gotten laid off. It took me about 3 months to find a job, but luckily I found a job in an attorney's office and I am now learning secretarial law work. The job is so demanding that I am literally " living to work. " I had a reaction to the ibuprophen based medication I was taking so I have had nothing to take to fight the inflamation that goes hand and hand with RA, just my methotrexate and folic acid. I flared so bad, that I wound up wit rheumatoid lung and my GP put me on methylprednesone and flomax. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! I have been running around this week like I use to. I can drive my standard shift car again (haven't done that in about 8 months now.) The clincher was yesterday: my son and I were driving to the grocery store like we always use to do on Saturdays and I looked over at him and told him how much I missed being able to spend that time lone with him every week just being normal. Not doing anything special, just being normal. What a concept!!! I am scheduled to meet with a new Rheumy in 2 weeks in Puerto Rico as it is just too expensive to fly to Florida, and I can't afford to take off for a week with a new job. I can fly to PR and back the same day. I'm hoping that my new Dr. will be willing to expand my treatment to more than just MTX as that alone isn't working for me. Sorry if this tends to ramble. It's been so long since I felt good, and had any energy. But I wanted to share my " normal day " with you all. It gives me hope that I might be able to have more of those, and that we might hit on the right combination of drugs soon. Happy thoughts and pain free days to all...
