Guest guest
Do you know the results? Is your doc checking all labs according to www stopthethyroidmadness.com ? It may be that you need T3. You will know that from the reverse T3 lab. Also, adrenal could be the culprit -- Weight gain Hello all.. Guest guest
One use is for " milligram " , or 1/1000th of a gram. Sometimes it is confused for mcg, which is 1/1,000,000th of a gram. He just said I needed to be on a lower dose > I will ask him more questions on my next visit. Don't just ask him.. Ask for a copy of all your lab reports. Then ask what he is using to determine that you need to reduce your T4. In addition, you can see if he has run all the tests necessary. Please post your results. Guest guest
Don’t know if it helps but both myself(2mg for RA ) my 16year old daughter(1.5 for Hypothyroid) have been losing inches and the only common denominator we share is the LDN. In addition my daughters hair and nails are longer and stronger and faster growing than ever. Is it possible then that the other meds you take are guilty? Best wishes. Guest guest
Effexor might be the problem with the weight gain but it doesn't seem likely. I'd suggest that you look at your thyroid first.. Do you have hypothyroidism? I'd suggest that you take a look at this website and contact through the website. She can tell you more about this. If you have copies of your blood work it will help. http://www.thyrophoenix.com/thyroid_101.htm > Sent: 21 September 2009 18:59 > low dose naltrexone > Subject: [low dose naltrexone] weight gain > > > > > > has there been any discussion regarding ldn? Guest guest
In my readings I have learned that Naltrexone is classified as an anticraving drug. I suppose it is possible that it could promote weight loss, but I can't say for weight gain.Sandy
Guest guest
I know I'm not the only person with RA. But no one I know has a clue of what I'm going through. I was diagnosed with RA back in April of this year. Never in my wildest dreams did I contemplate having such a debilitating condition. I am a 30-yr old female. No children, no husband, and barely into my career. My life is supposed to be beginning yet I feel like it's ending. I am on a combination of Prednisone and Leflunomide. Being on Prednisone helps the acute pain (flare-ups).But being on it for the past few months, I've experienced a lot of side effects. Weight gain, digestive issues, hypertension, and heart palpitations to name a few. Yet, still I have pain in my shoulders, knees, biceps, elbows, ankles, wrists, toes, and fingers. I believe that a lot of this has to do with my inactivity...adding to my weight gain...leading to more inactivity...and so forth. How can I become more active while avoiding pain? This weight gain can't be helping. " Down-n-out "
Guest guest
Initially when really ill in 2008 I lost 42 lbs, was losing 1/2 to 1 lb per week Then diagnosed with Lyme in Oct 2008, probably had it for many years; had an adrenal gland removed in Oct 2006 for an aldosterone producing adenoma (Conn's Syndrome). Months after the surgery became sicker than ever before in my life and did the usual rounds of conventional docs telling me I wasn't sick Once started Lyme treatment, using a modified buhner protocol along with homeopathics due to multiple drug allergies, my weight started to creep up at about a lb every two weeks, now I am heavier than I have ever been I too have hormonal issues, had low cortisol, high estrogen and low progesterone, now also low thyroid....on a small dose of topical progesterone and armour thyroid, supplements to support the remaining adrenal I have leptin resistance and insulin resistance...now recently my cholesterol numbers are creeping up My metabolism is completely messed up, trying many natural methods to remedy this but the weight will not budge, have stopped gaining but cannot lose The lyme causes inflammation and somehow inflammation is implicated in weight gain.. it is such a interwoven web of problems caused by all of this and so discouraging Low glycemic diet, omega 3s, cinnamon, irviginia, etc...nothing seems to help
Guest guest
Shotzie,  I am truly very sorry for your pain and grief. I wish I could lay hands on everyone here and take all the toxins out of us and the bugs too. I had similar issues to yours for years aside from the adenoma. I had a total hysterectomy in 2001 and after they overdosed me on hormones for 8 years have been off of them for 18 months. The one thing that goes hand in hand with Lyme is Candida. And no MD will recignize it and few ND's really truly understand it. It mimicks Lyme almost to the T and many of us that have been on years or months of antibiotics are prone to it and it is not treated right. Before my Lyme diagnosis I found my miracle for that particular critter int his whole mess. I improved DRAMACTICALLY from bed ridden to functioning after doing his simple protocol for 4 months having to start out very slow. I still do it now because my Candida issue is just as bad as my Lyme and I function higher doing it then not. Also until the lyme and immune system is under better control the Candida cannot resolve. His website is below and you can listen to his video library which is facinating. I also read his book 5 times lol. Below is the website. I do hope you find some relief and will keep you in my daily meditations.
