Welcome Jen. Glad to have you here too. Remember that if it has taken

you 20 years to evolve into the habits and mindset you have now, it

will take some time (maybe even a year or more) to overcome and

reverse those same habits too. Being gentle with yourself during this

process is a big help as well as just taking only as much as you can

handle at any time works well too. Keep on reading here and I also

suggest that if you have a topic that you are interested in (like

calorie counting), try using the Search in the Messages section here

at the group site. You may find some new (to you) and helpful posts

that way.

Best wishes - Katcha

Hi everyone :)My name is Jen. I just found this group and hope it will help me to stick to this. I've read a couple of the posts and it seems that others are struggling with the same issues that I do.I read the Intuitive Eating book several years ago. But, maybe I just wasn't ready to trust myself. I just turned 30 and looking back I've realized I've been dieting on and off for about 20 years. I want to move forward in my life and put all that energy to good use.I've been keeping a log of what I eat and how hungry or full I feel to try and learn to recognize hunger and fullness signals. I do okay for a couple days, but then as soon as I feel like I've overeaten, I run back to counting calories. This is really a struggle that I want to end. I hope that being able to talk with other people who struggle with this will help me to finally do it. Thanks for

reading,Jen
