Wanted to update everyone on the pain I was experiencing. I got so many

helpful and supportive emails. The day before the severe pain set in, we

were almost involved in a car accident. We were the first car to be able to

stop in time with out being involved. It was a pretty bad accident. People

got hurt. We were VERY fortunate.

Anyway, the doc says that I probably tensed up and then had the sudden stop.

The pain was mostly do to muscle spasms. The nerve block really helped with

the pain, and now I am back to how I was before. Moderate pain that I have

had all my life. Nothing I can't handle I guess. I don't take any pain

killers now, just my usual muscle relaxer, anti-inflammatory, and Tylenol or

Aleve.

So I wanted to send thanks to all that replied and especially to those who I

didn't get to respond to personally. Each message was very helpful, and I

apologize for not emailing everyone individually.

Here's to a good week!

Vicodin & Phenergan

> I ended up in the ER last night for severe neck pain. First time in the

ER for this for me. I was suprised that the staff took me serious and

actually listened to what I had to say even though they weren't very

familiar with Chiari, Stenosis, or Dysautonomia.

Vicodin and Phenergan. The bottle says that the Phenergan is to be taken

with the Vicodin to increase pain relief. Anyone else given this combo?

> For the last three days now, the pain has been unbearable. I am in so

much pain, much more than I have ever been in. And, I have no idea what set

it off. I have always had neck pain, but never this bad. I can't even

hardly sit up from a lying down position. It hurts when I take a deep

breath, I can't move my head top the side at all.

> If this terrible pain is what many of you suffer day in and day out, my

heart goes out to you! I have spent all day drugged up with drugs that

barely touch the pain, and I am so discouraged. My neurologist won't be in

the office until Wed. and I know I will run out of pain meds by then. If

the pain sticks with me much longer, I will return to the ER.
