Guest guest
So right Sig, The people who are seeking a freer/saner life will find IE. I don't care if " IE " persay gets more attention...as long as the principles themselves find their way into more mainstream programs, which I think is happening to some point. Examples, Weight watchers " no-diet " campaign and I'm seeing more articles on conscious eating and dealing with emotions without using food. Although, Weight watchers is saying " diets don't work " , I'm sure most people are still thinking of it as a " diet. " The conscious eating articles even still have a diety/food police feel to them. Though maybe...just maybe the act of saying " diets don't work " and starting to think more about conscious eating may lead more people to finding out what does work for them. I still have a big peeve about this whole you " must eat breakfast " thing/three meals a day/don't eat after 8. It's taken me a while of practicing IE to really feel that eating when I'm hungry is normal because I had to work through my old paradigm pattern of eating by the clock. I go to sleep at night, I wake up in the morning, I must eat. It's noon, it's lunch time I must eat, It's 6 p.m. it's dinner time, I must eat because I shouldn't eat after 8. Argh! We are not automatons. I was watching Oprah some weeks ago and she had Dr. Oz on with this other dude, who wrote a book about " Blue Zones " areas of the world where people live the longest. Once again, the " Blue Zone " author stressed the importance of eating breakfast. I break the " fast " optimally when my body gives me the signal to do so in the morning, which happens at different times and sometimes happens at noon. So, oops I didn't eat " breakfast. " It's so arbitrary, this whole " breakfast " thing. Eat when you get hungry makes more sense to me. Though, I don't think an entire diet industry could have been sustained by common body sense. Latoya > But, you know, results speak for themselves. People who are seeking > to be freer and happier and no longer obsessed with food will find > their way to IE, and take the time to achieve results. Those seeking > a quick weight loss fix will move on if they don't achieve what they > want, so I guess they're not ready for IE. That's why I don't care > for emphasising or focussing on weight loss when introducing people > to the concept of IE; that's misleading - it's more than that. Guest guest
Hi everyone: I joined the group weeks ago. I agree with Latoyajw in her assessment that eating breakfast should not be mandatory. Why do I have to eat breakfast when I'm not hungry? Whenver I forced myself to eat breakfast, I tend to eat excessively. The premise is to eat whenever someone is hungry. Period. Thanks. ,_._,___ Listen to 350+ music, sports, news radio stations including songs for the holidays FREE while you browse. Start Listening Now! Guest guest
Im with you on the breakfast thing. I rarely eat it and when I try to force myself to because its so " healthy and supposedly necessary " I eat like a crazy woman all day. I do much better to just listen to my tummy. I ususally start getting hunger pains around 11am or so, but somedays not until afternoon. > > > > > Hi everyone: > > I joined the group weeks ago.
