Guest guest
Hi All, This message is continuing with our weekly theme of a thread of messages focusing on one of the ten principles outlined in the book Intuitive Eating by Tribole and Resch. Please post and let us know what you think about this week's topic. Perhaps you could quote a small section that meant something special to you. If you haven't read the book for a while, you might want to re-read this section. Something new might jump out at you that you would like to share about. If you don't have the book that's okay too, just post on the topic or other peoples comments about the topic. If you are new to the group and would like to read and post about a previous week's theme, that's okay too. You can go directly to that message and then scroll down to the bottom of the page to see many of the posts in that thread. Even though I've only weighed myself once in the past two months I think I mentally weigh myself every morning when I look in the mirror, when I do up my pants, when I tighten my belt. So although putting away the scale is an important symbolic gesture me, it doesn't mean I have changed my thinking. It is how I think about myself, my body, my abilities and my essence that is important. This week I'm going to make a concerted effort to stop body-bashing. When I think something negative, I'm going to try to substitute a positive thought. I may even prepare some positive thoughts I can use. It probably wouldn't hurt me to sit down and write out a few good points about my body. According to the chart in the book I just squeaked by into the suggested weight for my height by like 2 lbs. ( That is, if I still weigh the same as I did the last time I weighed myself.) But I have a hard time accepting that because I would still like to lose some fat from the abdomen area. But everyone in my family has the same relative body shape as me, so I'm probably trying to battle nature. I think I need to lose the idea that I should look any different than I do right now. That is my new goal. Arnie IEing since Aug
