Guest guest
Hi Nat, Sorry to hear you are struggling right now. I find it helps to be a " Food Anthropologist " at these times. Try not to judge yourself harshly or to go into panic mode. Just try to observe what is going on in an objective and unbiased manner. If I were in your position,I would try to determine if I thought I was eating for comfort to numb my emotions or simply responding to what my body was calling for. I have found that my body goes through phases where it wants to eat a lot of starch, then periods where it prefers to go low carb. Recently I was craving lots of high fat food, quite unusual for me. I think this may be in response to the cold weather arriving in northern Maine. Your body may be calling for more starch because that is what it needs right now. Don't be afraid to trust your body's signals. If you are eating for comfort, you will probably have a lot more trouble stopping when full. That would be a " sign " . Again, no need to judge yourself, just make the observation and try to see what you can learn about the situation. You say you feel hungry all the time. I do find that protein is much more filling than starch so perhaps you could try eating some protein and observe how that makes you feel. Put on your anthropologist hat and hang in there, Nat! > > Hi, this is Nat with a new email... > I am having such a hard time right now, I had to wean off all my > depression and anxiety medications in 6 days due to a metabolic > problem - and since then, I just want to eat starch, nothing else, > nothing else seems to do the job, to satisfied me.
