Guest guest
Thank you for the help and advice. There is a doctor down in Miami, where we live, who thinks "out of the box". His name is Dr. Hotchner. He is not a DAN doctor but has prescribed MB12 before. He has many patients on the spectrum. His initial fee is $300 for 1 hour and follow ups are $150. I called and they had available appointments next week. Thanks again for your help.KarinHi Karin,We used MB12 nasal spray with our son some time back. Initially we got great results but chose to stop it due to increased hyperactivity. A year ago it was being said that MB12 nasal works best for children who needed to receive the MB12 shots on a daily basis vs every three days (which may have been why our son did poorly on it over time). I am not sure if anyone else has come out with any further thoughts on this since that time. If anyone knows please post for us. You will need a doctor's prescription to get it compounded for you, most main stream MD's won't prescribe it, you usually will need a DAN doctor. You can research the postings on this board with regards to a DAN doctor (Berger, Bradstreet, Levinson, etc.), it is going around lots now with regards to the different ones around S. Florida. Guest guest
Increased hyperactivity is considered an undesireable side effect, not an intolerable one, according to the studies on mb12. Perhaps, did you try to administer at night just before bedtime and/or space out more off days of administration? Like once per week to start, then slowly increase based on tolerance. When we initially began administering the mb12, we administered every 3rd or sometimes 4th day. Until the side effects subsided. Then moved to every other day. We tried (briefly) daily as well. We just try to monitor his progress to determine how much, how often. Right now, he is at about every other day. Re: MB 12 Nasal Spray Hi Karin,We used MB12 nasal spray with our son some time back.
