Now you can get your wish to help others here. Can you post the website you are referring to in the above snippet? I am definitely interested in seeing how I rate. ;^) My prayers are with you for a complete healing of your cancer. You seem to already be healed spiritually and emotionally in dealing with it. Keep your attitude going. Best wishes with your healing. In Charlottesville, VA

Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am also new here.I had my surgery 6-2-99 .I started at 287 and now weigh 165.I had my surgery done at pacific bariatrics in San Diego.I am married and have a 10 year old son. This surgery was the very best thing I could have done for myself. I live in Bakersfield California and I am 37.As far as my feeling sexy for my hubby that started about 2-3 months ago.I havent felt sexy in so long... But I am finally feeling good about myself. And I am finally buying clothes that fit me instead of buying big baggy sweats. It's funny even at my highest weight I would tell myself " I don't look that bad " But boy did I. People that I have not seen in a few years do not even reconize me.I am doing more things now that ever.Recently went to magic mountain and rode rides and I had no worrys about the bar fitting down on me. Sorry if I am rambling lol Tammy
Guest guest
Welcome to the list! I don't have much advice to offer you since I have absolutely no expertise in diabetes. I think you'll be okay with the ratio though. Lots of kids do fine on that ratio. It may take a while to get into ketosis, but I'm not necessarily sure that's the worst thing. My son was fasted and started on a 4:1 ratio. It was a very tough adjustment for him physically. If I had to do over, I'd start much more slowly. There are certain oils that can raise ketones (MCT oils). Coconut is one. That could help on a lower ratio. There are several moms on the list that are very knowledgeable about how certain oils work (unfortunately I'm not one). Good luck and fire away to the list with questions. ashley mom to alex, age 4, autism, possible LGS, keto kid since 5/02 ---------- To: ketogenic Subject: Introduction Date: Wed, Aug 21, 2002, 5:51 AM <<The main reason I am writing is because we are about to commence a form of the keto diet. Due to hayden's diabetes he is unable to go on a standard ratio. His ratio will be 2.5:1 and we are unable to kick in ketones as we can not fast him (due to his diabetes) and would be grateful for anyone assist in this matter.>>>
Guest guest
Hi Deana, Welcome to this group. This group has been such a huge support to me and I hope we can help you too. > hi, I am so glad to find this group right now. I just got the good news that I have a septate uterus.... Heehee...it's kind of funny to hear it said that way, but I know what you mean! I did not know if I was bicornuate (BU) or sepatate (SU) when I m/c at 12 wks. I remember my husband asking me which one I wished I was and I told him, " I guess if I was SU it would help me to explain the m/c and then it could be fixed " but of course, the m/c could have been due to anything. Well, as it turns out, I was SU and had a resection in April 2002. Luckily I had a follow-up HSG which showed that the septum was still completely there. I went to another dr and had a 2nd surgery in July 2002. I had a chemical pg on my first try at ttc in Sept 2002 and then found out I was pg in Jan 2003. I'm now 11w6d. This groups founder, Beth, had SU and PCOS also. She doesn't post as much b/c she just gave birth to Theodore in Dec, but she does read the posts still. She is an excellent source of information if you have questions about SU or PCOS> My drs said to wait until after 2 periods before ttc. You can also search this website if you want to read up on old messages about resection, etc. Also, take a look at the photos folder. We have a folder with " our kids " that gives us all a lot of inspiration. It sounds like you have a wonderful husband and mom to support you. That will help a lot to get you through all of these appts. Just curious, how did your dr conclude that you had a septum? What type of testing was used? I would like to stress the importance of having some type of follow-up test (HSG, SHG or hys) to insure that the septum was removed. There have been a few of us that were surprised we needed another surgery. It's something you would want to know about before ttc. Again, welcome! Guest guest
Welcome Lois My hat is off to you that you could stick with your 'weight management' for SO MANY YEARS!! That type of constant checking would have worn me out and I'm sure I would have rebelled big time too. By the way, 15 pounds more at retirement sounds very much in line with how our bodies do naturally carry more weight as we age. I ever read one study that claimed that older people actually a 'healthier' a tad over, rather than, under weight. But weight #s isn't what is as important as how YOU feel living in your body. What you wrote about 'clean plate' and horror of throwing out (wasting) food is a concern for many of us. Hopefully you will be able to find a better, more pleasant and fitting way for you to be around food from this group. IE is about eating, but as you need and prefer it. Best wishes as you learn and practice IE with us. Guest guest
Hi, I'm Angele I have been battling with overeating for a very long time. I was glad to come across Geneen Ruth though this group. I downloaded lots of her sessions and totally am amazed. Wow!!! I have been going to Emotions Anonymous for over 20 years and it has given me back my life. I have ADDH and lots of my eating now is due to that. I just love Geneen " inquiry tool " . I was very surprise to hear her say that all my relationship with my food is in my life too!! I had listen to her tapes for a week now and already seen an improvement. When I read some posting in this group I was a bit confused with " what is IE " . Didn't realize that was what GR was about. I'd like to try some of the others but I likes Geneen so much that I'm worried that it might not be the same message and I don't want to get confused. I'm so pleased that any struggles I will have with the guidelines I can do an inquiry to see what the actual problem is. I like to do inquiries as they are non jugemental and I don't need to resist doing this as it is only an inquiry.....no pressure at all. Looking forward to spend time in this group!!!!
