Guest guest
Joy! I get EXTREME relief from yoga. In fact I became an instructor because I was so happy that it did so much for me. In general, all of my symptoms disappear or subside after I do a good hour of yoga, including my neck spasms! I practice 3-5 times per week. I would highly recommend this to you or anyone else looking for relief. Find a good yoga studio near you or buy some videotapes and allow yourself to be open to the idea of it for at least a month. I personally do Hatha yoga, but I am sure any type of yoga would be beneficial. I particarly like the way I feel after doing inversions, like supported headstands (NO WEIGHT IS ON MY HEAD!!! I find this balances out my central nervous system - as well as the concentration of deep breathing yoga entails. Yoga not only works on your physical conditions, but I would bet you would gain mental health from it! If you or anyone else has any further questions please let me know. As I mentioned in past posts, I am up to my limit on steriods and can no longer receive trigger point injections with lidocaine and steriods. My neuro said that he didn't feel just giving my lidocaine and saline would help much. In the interim, I am breaking out in back and neck spasms and nothing seems to be controlling them. I've been taking Ativan, and he increased my Inderal. He refuses to give me anything for pain. He tells me to take Advil or Alleve - yeah, right??!! I've tried both for some of those migraine headaches and IT REALLY DON'T WORK!! I was taking But-Apap (forgive me, I don't have the prescription bottle with me to get the correct name), but it contain caffeine and my doctor said this was the worse thing I could take for my migraines. I was given this prescription when I went to the Emergency Room. I know there are painkillers out there that don't contain caffeine and can't fiure out why he doesn't want to give me any. I got the feeling that he thinks I either an addict or will get too addicted to them even though I told him I don't take them until I absolutely need to!! He suggested I try Yoga and this might help my muscle spasms. Has anyone else ever tried Yoga and had some relief from it? Once again, I need your help. Thanks for your support.
