Guest guest
Hi, My son also has very, very high activity levels and has been diagnosed w/autism but not ADHD. He is now 4 and while his activity has decreased over the last year with his regular program and a lot of OT his levels are still higher than most and it is still a struggle daily. He never stops moving, it seems. Have you tried a weighted vest at home? This helps sometimes with my son. Mine also won't nap but we put him in his room (there is nothing in the room except his bed and a few books and puzzles and the closet is locked securely) and have a sliding lock on the outside so he is not able to open the door. Sometimes he does fall asleep when presented with no options of anything else to do. Otherwise he looks at the books and plays w/the pizzles or looks out the window and it is " downtime " for him. We see a DAN doc too and I have found that the supplements he takes have helped with calming him a bit so maybe when you see yours he or she would be able to help. Good luck - It is so difficult when you literally can't look away for a moment. Liz
