Guest guest
Has any of the moms who is on the gfcf diet together with her autistic child experienced depression as a withdrawal effect? On the first week of limiting (though not eliminating) gluten I felt very active and happy, but later I became quite unhappy. (I have been on medication against depression for a long time, and still am.) Or am I just feeling depressed because of the burden of the diet and isolation? No other possible cause is present, and my son seems to benefit on the diet. I have always used to eat a lot of gluten; it was a kind of being addicted to it. If I was feeling stressed out and down, a piece of cookie or other carbohydrates helped me quickly. What should I do in these cases in the future?
