That is fantastic, Meg!! I think that new person was in there all along, just waiting to emerge! I am so ready for the real me to emerge. I thinkI allowed so much to pile on top of my real self that I lost my self. It is quite freeing, isn't it?

An interesting experience last Thursday... My BF and I went to the

Dragstrip to watch the races. He used to race cars, and I had never

seen it before, except on TV. It was a lot of fun! I live near the

dragstrip, and would hear the engines at my house, but had never

been down there before.. Anyway, as soon as we got in you could

smell all those wonderful food smells, you know what I mean, that

sweet, sticky, fried smell that is so uniquely "fair". Before IE, I

would always crave, crave, crave fried sausage & onions, funnel

cakes, candy apples, corn dogs, potato ribbons, fried Oreos, all

that good stuff. Usually finding a way to sneak it, so no one could

judge that fat lady eating all that junk (Of course, I was usually

starving, too.)But on Thursday, I was not hungry when I went, and I

didn't want it! It smelled divine, but just not interested. Who is

this person?! If I can be calm and cool smelling all that fair food,

anything is possible! It was nice to be able to simply enjoy the

smells as part of the experience, and not fight with myself about

eating the whole time.

Great for you Meg! Isn't it wonderful to find the real person we are

instead of fighting with that rebellious brat that evolved due to

being denied?!? The races sounds like fun too. Hubby used to go but

never took me either, and its been nearly 40 years too - lol. Maybe

one day?

Loved your post :) Katcha
