Guest guest
The Coaching Process (Autism Coach) Some folks use the term Autism Coach; others call it Mentor. Some coaches have degrees, some have chutsba. So what is coaching? Coaching is a collaborative process and based on a partnership between the family, the individual with autism and a trained and experienced individual who knows, understands and respects the values of all concerned. Coaching helps clarify everyone's thoughts and feelings, so you can discover the answers to your unique situation. Good coaching respects the "neuro-diversity" of the individual and provides support using a 100% strength-based model. The job description varies as the needs of the individual varies. A job coach is often referred to as a "job mentor", or "lifeskills" coach. It's about the actions and talent of the individual offering the support. The title means nothing. Job description of an Autism Coach Hi, all, Could someone or everyone please clarify for me what the duties of an Autism Coach are? Also, is there a job description spelling out responsibilities and criteria that I could look at - a website would be great. Thanks, Jazel Get the Moviefone Toolbar. Guest guest
If you are referring to a job coach, the title means nothing. I wend through voc. rehab. to get one for my son, and they failed miserably at finding even one job or getting one interview, so I got certified as a job coach, found my son a job and coached him in how to do the job. I did this for two weeks and slowly backed off leaving him to do the job. I keep in constant contact with his manager and they keep me informed of anything we need to work on. I am my son's advocate, when it comes to what things he shouldn't be allowed to do on the job, or when I perceive any type of harassment or unusual requests by his employers or fellow workers. Donna An Autism coach is not a job coach....they are usually in the elementary schools with clusters. Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars.
