Guest guest
, how far along are you? I'm 19 weeks and have gained 7 pounds so far. Yikes! I am dealing with it, too. I haven't gained anywhere except in my belly. I know that I'm going to have to work hard to get back into shape after the baby is born, but that's life I guess. Jenna Update.. Today I had my fasting test for gestational diabetes. My fasting sugar was 85. Two hours after eating it registered 82. No diabetes for me. However basically it confirmed to me that when I start my day I do need to continue to eat every 90minutes or soto prevent my sugar from dropping too far. Anyway, the baby's heartbeat is very easily heard now -- they don't even have to lift my apron! I gained two pounds this month bringing the grand total of this pregnancy to 7 pounds! (Okay so I went back on my word about not looking at the scale. But I am dealing!) My belly button is beginning to become shallower -- it will probably become an outie before delivery based on what I am seeing. Oh and my next appointment has been moved to only 3 weeks from now! Instead of a month. I am entering the home stretch. Changes changes changes! Rasley mailto:drasley@... Guest guest
You guys sound like you are doing GREAT! I am so glad to hear good reports. I am 35 weeks and have gained a total of 19 pounds. My OB assures me that this is below average but it is still so hard to see the scale going up!!Good news for the Glucose Tolerance Test. I had to take that stupid thing 3 times because of my previous Gestational Diabetes with my pre-WLS pregnancy. I was negative everytime, but they tested me early, regular and late during this pregnancy to make sure it did not sneak up on us. I owe not having it to my WLS. Anyway, glad to see everyone is doing so well. donna 35 weeks pregnant 19 months post-op VBG Update.. > > > Today I had my fasting test for gestational diabetes. My fasting sugar was > 85. Guest guest
I am 26+ according to the doctor's count or in my 27th week. I also though had the flu early on which slowed down my weight gain! Please don't compare yourself and your weight gain to mine. I also had really bad nausea my entire first trimester. From what i have learned the average weight gain is 25 pounds. Some gain more (most doctors allow up to 35 pounds depending on starting weight) and some less. By the way I have gained about 8 inches in my tummy! I didn't think that was possible but it is -- I have lost weight from elsewhere on my body -- my arms and butt for instance and it is all congregating in my stomach! Rasley mailto:drasley@... Guest guest
Wow, then you're doing okay. I wouldn't compare myself to anyone as far as weight gain goes. I know I'll lose whatever I gain. It will just take time, a good eating plan, and exercise. I've definately got the right attitude, so I'll make it. Jenna Update.. > > > Today I had my fasting test for gestational diabetes.
