I have an incisional hernia. The doctor says if I must have c-section for

any reason they could take care of the hernia then. If not, He wants me to

have it taken care of before I have any more children.

Diane I'm due November 22

My surgeon had a patient get preg with twins and had a hernia. It was a

pretty big one. From what I heard, it did not hurt but she is encouraged to

have it fixed post pg.

I guess it is best if you don't have one and poses no problem unless it

interferes with the bowel.. I think I am just having some muscle problems..

I pray..Take care and thanks for that info.. J

I currently have a hernia and was told not to get pregnant until the hernia is

repaired. The hernia is not painful, but my surgeon says that a pregnancy could

aggrevate it.

I got a second opinion from my OB and he said if I got pregnant and didn't know

I had a hernia, he would just have to deal with it, but it was irresponsible to

get pregnant and know you have a hernia.

Just wanted to pass on my experience.

Cammi, it could be (I forgot exactly what it's called) the separation of the

two muscles that run along the midline of your abdomen. Some women get this

and it's most noticeable if they're doing something straining like situps or

something. Of course, it *could* be a hernia, but either way, your OB could

tell you which it is. Dangit, I wish I could remember what that's called. I

have a friend who had it... it isn't a serious problem, just something you

have to watch.
