But first I want to know... how do YOU use your baking stone if you have one?

Hi Marilyn,

Use mine for making pizza. It's great!!!

PatStart the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.

They are used mainly for baking bread and pizza crusts. The stones suck

the moisture off the surface of wheat breads to form a crunchy golden

crust. Sorry. May work with almonds though.

I am surprised at the polyvalence of almond flour. Last night I dipped

hallibut fillets in egg white then I generously coated them with almond

flour and fried them in olive oil. It was better than with flour.

Our Marilyn, getting toned?:-) So. There's this handsome baking stone sitting here in its box next to the computer. I will find a place to store it safely, but first I want to USE it. That I knew. I believe there are SCDers who use them for making vegetable

crisps, as well. No reason why a pizza stone wouldn't suck the moisture

out of them.

A crunchy golden crust, huh? <dreams of SCD legal French bread begin

to dance through the head>

Sounds delicious. Did you whip the egg white first? There are lots of SCD

dishes that I like the SCD version better than the original.

Actually, I never pre-heat the stone, though that would help make

the veggies crispier. I got a " medium bar pan " from Pampered Chef

(having never gotten any of their products before)....and now I'm

hooked on stoneware. Once it is seasoned, nothing sticks. Just like

a good cast iron skillet, you never wash it with soap. Plus, it has

to cool to room temp. before putting water on it, or it may crack.
