I forget the brand name; didn't buy any.

I got some pork strips that were sliced exactly like bacon from a

butcher store; didn't have any liquid smoke, but I'm sure some

seasoning would have produced a much more bacon-like product!

Or smoke them yourself. I'm very partial to my Cameron's Stove Top

Smoker.

I've gotten mine from the Whispering Pines Farm here in Louisiana. Check

www.eatwild.com

for farmers near you who might have bacon which could be legal.

I recently made my own bacon from pork belly - very easy - I used the

recipes on SCDrecipe.com, but didn't smoke it, and it came out great.

One brand that does not have sugar (honey instead) is Hempler's

Natural Uncured Bacon. They are in Ferndale, WA, so I don't know how

local they are or if they distribute to other parts of country.
