Guest guest
One of the important lessons I have learned on SCD is to switch from 3 meals a day to 6 or 7 small meals. I made this switch in my 2nd week on SCD and found it helped me considerably. Because we don't eat complex carbs on SCD we digest food a lot faster, so to maintain energy we need to eat more often. It's also easier on the digestion to eat frequent small meals. I make normal sized meals, just eat them in 2 or 3 parts. Basically I eat something every 2 to 3 hours from 8 am until 7 pm. And I make sure I get protein with nearly every snack. You might find you will have more energy by eating frequently. Your body is going to be putting energy towards healing, so there isn't much left for activities. I would hope that in NYC you'll have better luck finding someone to cook meals for you. There's no one in my area, that's for sure. Kim M. SCD 4+ years >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> i live in nyc.been really having a hard time having the energy to go out and shopand cook. i already feel so much better on the diet but still myenergy level is weak. so i was thinking perhaps maybe someone hassuggestions as to how i can find someone to cook for me and i can putit in my freezer. of course i am willing to pay for ingredients, timeand talent- you know whatever is fair. i hope as i get better thiswon't be such a problem. when i do have energy i really like goingoutside.. because i have basically been a shut-in now for like 6years. been sick much longer.. but these past 6 years have just beenso difficult.has this issue come up? difficulty cooking, looking for a chef basically. Guest guest
I'm going to try this. What do you do when you leave your house? What kind of snacks did you take with you in the beginning that have protein and that isn't nuts? > > One of the important lessons I have learned on SCD is to switch from 3 meals a day to 6 or 7 small meals.
