Wild Bill's Coffee Shop-Well worth your time

Wild Bill’s Coffee

Shop

There’s a new movie coming

out about Bill Sackter. In 1920, at age seven, he was placed in an

institution. He wasn’t taught to read. He was denied many basic human rights.

He spent 45 years there before getting out. Then he became a valued member of

society. He ran his own coffee shop in Iowa City. It was a town favorite.

Sounds like a “can’t miss” flick.

Bill had lots of support to

“make it.” Once he got out of the institution, a college student became his

legal guardian to help Bill avoid getting put back in. Then he helped Bill

find a job in Iowa City.

The Web has lots of good

information on Bill

Sackter, the upcoming movie (A

Friend Indeed - The Bill Sackter Story) and Wild

Bill’s Coffee Shop in Iowa City.
