IE and high glycemic foods

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone else have a strong reaction to foods high on the glycemic

index? Although I am not diabetic, I find that food like candy, chips,

pop, etc. make me feel very tired and harder for me to concentrate.

They also tend to effect my mood and energy levels. Does anyone else

experience this? How does this fit into IE? Sometimes I find I avoid

these foods because of how they make me feel, even though I crave

them. Then I wonder if that is sort of like dieting. And if a person

were diabetic how would IE work for them? I have been told that I may

become diabetic due to PCOS. Any ideas or experience to share? Thank

you!

If you choose to avoid certain foods because you don't feel well after eating them, that is just choice, not a diet. Avoiding foods because of calorie content or "good" vs "bad" thinking is the diet mentality. I think it's fine to realize a food makes you feel down, tired, etc and choose not to eat, even tho you may be craving it. After all, with IE, you can always change your mind and eat that food later. :)

Just my two cents!
