Guest guest
Hi Orlinda I can't digest cheese either, and I've given up trying. I developed upper GI disorders, and the cheese always triggers severe nausea and RUQ pain (my usual symptoms after a meal but at extremely severe levels). Takes my digestion days to recover from even the smallest bit of cheese. My symptoms are normally triggered by fat, fiber, spices, and high carb foods, so I'm guessing the cheese is too dense, too high in fat. Believe me, I've tested and experimented to make sure it's a reaction to cheese.... Just one of these things. I remain philosophical about it. I still eat well, even if I can't enjoy cheeses. Kim M. Can the bad bacteria feed off of undigested cheese?Orlinda - ORCeliac - 2006SCD - Sept. 2007
Guest guest
Kim, Thanks for the idea of fat being a problem. I know I have to have so much fat or I'm hungry all the time, but maybe my body can't handle digesting something that is 75% fat right now. Guest guest
Carol, Thanks for this suggestion to cook it. I tried it for breakfast this morning, but I couldn't tell if it helped or not. (It might have been something else.) It sure was yummy, though. :0) Orlinda - OR Celiac - 2006 SCD - Sept. 2007 > > I read that cheese becomes a much more easily digestible and > desirable article of food when cooked and have found it to be true > for me. > > Carol F. > > Celiac, SCD 8 years,MCS, Latex Allergy > http://www.celiac.com/authors/143/Carol-Frilegh > http://www.talkaboutcuringautism.org/gfcf-diet/sc-diet.htm >
