Guest guest
Hi All, This message is continuing with our weekly theme (sorry, it's been two weeks since the last one) of a thread of messages focusing on one of the ten principles outlined in the book Intuitive Eating by Tribole and Resch. Please post and let us know what you think about this week's topic. Perhaps you could quote a small section that meant something special to you. If you haven't read the book for a while, you might want to re-read this section. Something new might jump out at you that you would like to share about. If you don't have the book that's okay too, just post on the topic or other peoples comments about the topic. If you are new to the group and would like to read and post about a previous week's theme, that's okay too. You can go directly to that message and then scroll down to the bottom of the page to see many of the posts in that thread. I've only been IEing for about 2.5 months and I haven't worried much about this. Other than some binges of sugar laden food I tend to find that I crave pretty healthy stuff. Sometimes I might want some rather high fat food for a day or two, but I don't worry about that. Who knows, maybe my body needs some high fat stuff every now and then. I remember a few years ago hearing about how bad the popcorn at movie theatres is for us because of the type of fat used. For some reason that stuck in my mind as something I should avoid. But what the heck, I go to a movie once every three or four months, if I'm lucky. But there is so much media noise about food that it's a miracle anyone eats anymore… I think that most of us ex-dieters are probably hyper-sensitive to our nutritional needs. But just speaking for myself, I've learnt quite a bit about nutrition in my dieting journey. I think I can use some of that information in Intuitive Eating. But I really feel that for the most part, since I've been Intuitive Eating my choices have just naturally been pretty good. Things seem to even out over time. Sometimes I want more meat, sometime I want more grains, but over time I think things balance out. So, I don't think I'm at a place yet where I should be putting a lot of emphasis on this chapter yet. I still have some other things to work out yet. But I'm okay with that. My IE journey has a comfortable and natural feeling for me. Arnie IEing since Aug
