Just 10 Days Left to Speak Out for Parental Rights in IDEA

On May 13, 2008, the U.S. Department of Education (USED) released proposed

new regulations governing certain aspects of Part B of the Individuals with

Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) - the nation's special education law.

Among these proposed new regulations, two are critically important for

parents: Parental Consent for Special Education and Related Services and

Hearing Rights.

The Advocacy Institute encourages parents and advocates to submit comments

on these proposed changes to the USED. Our comments and recommendations are

available for guidance. Go to www.IDEA2004.info for information on the

proposed regulations and instructions on how to submit your comments. While

you're there, join our Blog and tell us what you think about the proposals.

July 28th is the deadline for submitting your comments.
