4 Month Post Op

Hello to my Chiari Family,

Well I am going to unsub for about 1-1/2 Weeks, as I

am going on vacation.

The 13th will be 4 months since my decompression, It

is pretty amazing as to how I feel. I just completed

some physical therapy, as I was having some headaches,

and they decided that I was pretty tight in my neck

and shoulders, from the way I would dit and walk as I

was " guarding " my neck, so I did a month of PT and

have been feeling really good, once in awhile, my neck

gets a little tired and weak feeling, but nothing I

can't handle. I have returned to firefighting and am

SO HAPPY.. I have also returned to playing racquetball

and I was pretty sore at first, but havent had any

problems from it.

I will be leaving thursday to go down to Miami for the

Miami Dolphins vs Tampa Bay Bucs game and then on

Friday morning (my Birthday-- The BIG " 30 " ) I will be

leaving for the Florida Keys, where I will be going

diving for the first time in 6 months, You just don't

know how excited I am, but yes I will admit a little

nervous too.... But Gotta go and try it, My Doctor

said I can return to everything I was doing prior to

surgery. Hopefully I'll be coming home with lots of

lobsters as well....

I just want to thank all of you for everything, as I

don't think I could have made it through it all

without your support. For those of you who are

considering surgery, I would do it again tomorrow if

needed, I have no regrets, EXCEPT the foley catherter,

I could do without it.. DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!!!!!!

I will sign back on when I return, as I feel it would

be very selfish of me to leave the group, after all

you have done for me, I feel I owe it to the newbies,

to try and give back what you all gave me.....

Thanks for the great story! Would you mind sharing with the group what your

pre-op symptoms were and about how long you think your chiari was affecting

you before you were dxd and had surgery?
