Guest guest
MORE THOUGHTS ON " BINGES " AND " PARTIES IN MY MOUTH " .. For me..... a " binge " is me eating more food than my body needs in a way that keeps me from tasting the food I'm eating. And a " party in my mouth " is me eating more food than my body needs in a way that I taste and enjoy every bite. Whenever I have a " binge " I do a mental redo replacing it with a " party in my mounth " where I still eat the food I just so it in such a way that I enjoy it and stop sooner. For me this is a huge shift toward making me an intuitive/naturally slender eater. I'm loving this journey and especially making up my own rules as I go. I have been listening to some FREE tapes called inside out weightloss that go very well with Intuitive eating and one of the tapes is about something called " redos " . When I use the " redo " is when I do something that I would like to do different next time.......So instead of beating myself up I just do a redo. An example for me is.... last night I went to a hen party and watched the Sex in the City movie with a bunch of girlfriends. When I got there is was not hungry so I did not eat any of the food but when the movie was over I was hungry so I started eating and ate quit a bit of food without tasting any of it. So instead of feeling bad about it I just did a redo. My redo was to get a small plate of food only my favorites and sit down and eat them with a fork. LOL I keep forgetting that........if they are my favorite that must mean I like their taste.......so it would make sense to remind myself to eat them slowish so I can taste them. Guest guest
Gail, I tried this today. I had a really, really good day overall using my fullness and hunger and finally, truly honoring WHAT I wanted to eat. Tonight I came home and just had the urge to eat something. No reason, just because. I had a Milky Way that I have saved from before, and I thought that did sound good. I started eating it mindlessly, and then I remembered what you said. I changed my thinking of " oh great, another binge " to " I'm having a party in my mouth! " . Gail! Wow!!!!!! You absolutely hit on something for me!!!! That little bit of thinking left me feeling...happy! about that candy bar! Do you know how long it's been since I've ENJOYED the food I ate on a " binge " ??? That one candy bar transformed from something " bad " and a " binge " into a true pleasure! I ENJOYED IT!!!!! I actually enjoyed it!!!! And after that, I was SO giddy from the feeling, that I sat there as content as a bird in a tree. I probably looked like a goober, sitting there grinning, but good grief I never expected what happened to happen. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart! This little piece of advice really clicked for me!!! dawnz:) > > I have been listening to some FREE tapes called inside out weightloss > that go very well with Intuitive eating and one of the tapes is about > something called " redos " . > > When I use the " redo " is when I do something that I would like to do > different next time.......So instead of beating myself up I just do a > redo. > > An example for me is.... last night I went to a hen party and watched > the Sex in the City movie with a bunch of girlfriends.
