Read 2nd MRI report...questions....

After [posting about my hospital visit, last night I look at my MRI's --tried

to see the difference -- and I found the report. \

2nd MRI was read by a different person from the 1st.

Here is some of what it said:

congentital deformities and ACM

w/mild hydorcephalus and occipital bone deformity were seen on the 1st MRI.

poor definition of the folisl markings within the cerebellum. On the current

evaluation, theses changes continue to be present w/p interval changes. Ther

has been a suboccipital cranitomy, upper cervical deconpression laminectomy.

continues to be the presence of a single bright signal intensity within the

frontal suboccipital white matter. ( called lesion on the lst MRI report)

no shift of midline structures. no extral cerebral fluid collections--(to

me, this seems to be the only good news.) There is no patholgical

enhancement following Gadolinium (shot for contrast ??) ---What in the world

does this mean.

Also: Incidentally, there are inflammnatory changes within the mastoid air

cells bilaterally which were not identified on the preoperative report.

Showed it all to sis-in-law -=--she's a nurse's assisstant. She didn't know

to much of the MRI; but, thought that the hydro area lokked bigger on the

2nd MRI. She didn't really like the sound of the report.

Family still doesn't get it. Hubby just heard Janetta saying " You're healing

and we'll take care of you. You'll be alright' Meanwhile, he didn't go over

the MRI w/me during my 6 week post-op visit -- and not sure that he ever saw

it.

I'm the one who been saying that I know there if pressure still up there.

Well, ther is still fluid up there.

For years, I have said that it bothers me to bend over and pick up---like the

kids toys/junk. Looks like having fluid in the middle of your brain will do

that. Dad got upset when I said this---said to let the doctor's dx me. I

told him that it feels like i dxed myself this time. Had to overdo and go to

hospital to get them to say/realize that the fluid is still there. I've

suspected this for awhile.

Love parent's and need them. but, if they won't listen, they can satay away.

Mom will disown me if I argue and don't give in to them (and i'm 38) This

is my Brain and life --more important than their fellings.

Anyways, if anyone can understand this report, please let me know. What are

Mastoid air cells and no pathological enhancement ??
