Guest guest
Dear Veena, Can't say I've heard of a virus that affects tendons. But I can say that EDS definitely does :-) Basically the tendons/muscles and ligaments are what keeps the joints in place. Our ligaments are defective so more stress is put on the muscles which are attached to the bone by tendons which inflame due to the increased stress. They are trying to do a job they weren't made to do. This is also why increasing muscle strength/mass doesn't particulary help us (that is if we could do it sufficiently without pain or damage to tendons that are stressed) - the tendons are still the weak point and still become inflammed I often try to help people understand what I go through by saying I have tendonitis head to toe - which is true. Tendons cause a lot of my pain - probably 90% at least. Good luck with your Rhuemy and if you find out anything more about this virus let us know. Hugs, B.
