Guest guest
Marilyn, > Why don't you think you're getting enough carbs? Well,in beginning the diet is pretty limited (not sure how long to wait for 2nd stage). . . other than that OJ, I'm eating some spinach and about 1 zucchini a day. (the rest is meat, cheese, yog. cheese, and eggs) I'm wondering if that is why I get so tired. I am fairly active, normally, and actually this afternoon am heading up to a weekend camp for girls where I am the main speaker and I help with whatever else needs to be done. I really want to do this right and get to feeling good (and strong) consistantly . . . that's my struggle. With all the talk about how important it is to not go too low and I believe it does mess with your hormones, I just want to be careful. > What kind of apples did you use, and were they organic or conventional? Normally I would have used conventional, we never buy organic, but we help with an organization that gets produce from stores that they can't sell and disperses it to people that need it. We took home a box of organic golden delicious that day. > Avoid at all cost those " snacking carrots " as they are > often larger carrots cut to size. The company that sells baby carrots here says that they are long skinning carrots cut short. Guest guest
Marilyn, I am pretty ignorant about pressure cookers . . . how long would you cook carrots in them to be " well-cooked " . > I can appreciate limiting carrots, although you > might wish to be aware that some of the parents > on the pecan bread list have found that cooking > carrots really, really well, like in a pressure > cooker, or, lacking that, for around 4 hours, > with plenty of water, and/or pureeing them have > made them more digestible. > > — Marilyn > New Orleans, Louisiana, USA > Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 > Darn Good SCD Cook > No Human Children > Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Orlinda - OR Celiac - 2006 SCD - 2007
Guest guest
Can someone repost the URL or paper, originally posted by Nina, containing the fruits and vegies with high fructose and those without. I seem to have misplaced it. TIA, Mara

TIA, Mara Mara, Don't forget that with the Yahoo set up, you can go to the website, and check the archives if you mis-file something in your email. <g> I've done that when I wanted to send myself an extra copy to file in two different places. http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/internet/digestive-health/nutrition/low-fructose-diet.pdf — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
