If there is anyone out there- i'd love to hear about your experience. many thanks in advance, , Not necessarily. One of the things I've observed after six years on SCD (I have a LOT of health issues!) is that people come to the list, get the help they need with implementing SCD, and then, as their life normalizes with SCD, they go away, and get on with their lives. (Although I do want to stress that we're not doctors here, and SCD is not a substitute for the meds if you need them. Also, one should never consider oneself " weak " or " a failure " because one needs meds.) So the situation may be that there are people who have been able to go med-free with SCD who have left the list because they no longer need regular assistance. And that's the great success and joy of SCD. Some of us stick around to help newcomers as we ourselves were helped. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Hi. I didn't respond to this initially, because I am still taking an imunosuppressant. I was on Imuran for @ 1-1/2 years. I switched doctors, and the new one was appalled I was on it and switched me over to purinethol, which is supposed to be exponentially less toxic. He's tried to wean me off that a couple times, but it appears I'm on the lowest dose possible (75mg/mcg/can't remember the measurement. 75 something.) I want to be med free. Bernadette, Welcome to the list -- and we certainly hope it will be as good for you as it has been for many of us. We'll certainly give you all the support we can. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
