Guest guest
I do b'feed, but I did not have a bypass procedure (I had a vbg), so I can't speak to absorption issues very well. I just have to make sure that I drink enough and that I eat decent food and take my vitamins. I also take an EFA (essential fatty acid) supplement. -Kris
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I had RNY and yes I did breastfeed my baby. I wasn't told to do this but I would take an extra penatal vitamin every day while I was nursing. I have a very healthy baby boy, so it didn't hurt him abit. Good luck! Guest guest
Hey Kris....just wondering how eating is going for you now? Do you find you are able to eat more than before?? Just curious. Guest guest
, I have seen two reported cases on LaLeche League's web site where a baby had trouble after a mother's gastric bypass. We have to be extra careful to get in all our fluids and nutrition, and keep a close eye on our babies to make sure they are gaining weight and doing well. I still believe the benefits of breastfeeding outweigh the risks, as long as we do those things. Lynn
