Giggle...if I had a chef and a personal trainer " living " with me I er well, honestly, I still would have found a way to eat! Hahahahahahahaha! I guess all this shows is that its a very personal decision and everyones answer for themselves is right. Guest guest
Thats kinda what I was thinking too - I mean after all, drinking protein shakes isn't natural and doesnt keep the weight off or teach you how to eat properly. I think of WLS as just another surgery I need and I would rather have WLS than by-pass surgery or diabetes. Anyway, each to their own I guess, but I agree - she should at least check it out, because I believe she WILL gain the weight back again. She could buy them ALL if she wants! And since she WILL go back up, she'd be wise to get one NOW, while she's healthy! Guest guest
I think this Oprah thread is interesting. About 3 months after I had my surgery (which would make it around last October) Oprah had a segment on people who had lost weight, and she had a lady on who had lost about 100 lbs " the hard way " , as Oprah said it, with diet and exercise, not the " easy " way via surgery. Well, at the time there was a huge outcry on the big OSSG list about it. Several of us in our support group got together and videotaped a " testimonial " about WLS to Oprah...each of us citing our weight loss, how we had struggled, etc....and we mailed it to her. Of course, we never got a response. But I figure, Hey, if she ever actually saw the tape...maybe it gave her " food for thought " . All we can do is try to set an example and educate those who have no clue. Kathy in NB Oprah >One of the locals talked to her when she won a visit to the show.
