Guest guest
Hi, Yogurt as long as it's regular milk, not low-fat because of all the liquid. Romano cheese is sheep--lactose free and parmesan is naturally aged, lactose-free and sugar free. I can take a little cheddar but I prefer the parmesan, it's mainly cost that I don't eat it all the time. The book says " occasionally " I think for both of those cheeses. I like provolone too. Since I don't drink soy milk anymore, I try to eat a lot of cheese including Farmer's but I should probably take calcium also. I'm not sure if everyone dx'd with crohn's has to avoid dairy. It depends on lactose-intolerance. I wasn't but I am now and have been for several years. Hope that helps. I think usually there's lots of people with crohn's who post here. Debbie 38 crohn's dx'd 3/02 scd restart 1/07 (6 months of 2005/06) just read another blurb saying Crohns people should avoid milk - are many on here dx with crohns?? and are you handling dairy (legal cheese/yogurts ok?)thankseileen 5 weeks

Guest guest
hey eileen, i have CD and i can have yogurt made from low-fat and whole cow's milk. i can also tolerate butter and homemade ghee. i eat very little cheese. i buy the aged ones like 2 yr cheddars and so on. i make dripped yogurt but i use that in cooking. i drip it in the fridge. i also take the lyosan probiotic which from what i understand has some dairy in it and i tolerate it well unless i don't feel well that day. jodi
