Guest guest
I haven't posted in a quite a long time so many of you may not remember me, but I need help! I was decompressed back on Jan 26th by Dr. Heffez and have slowly been improving. I've had my share of ups and downs, but I can tell a definite difference in all of my symptoms since surgery. Two night ago, I woke up during the night with some muscle pain in the right side of my neck. I put on my cervical collar thinking that I must have just been sleeping on it wrong. When I woke up yesterday morning, it was still hurting, so I took off my collar and started doing some slow, gentle neck stretches. Every time I moved my head I heard this grinding noise! A few seconds later, the right side of my head, neck, and shoulder were in excruciating pain. I couldn't move. It was paralyzing. I haven't felt that type of pain since surgery, but this time, there wasn't any morphine! :-( All day yesterday I iced my neck and shoulder, and took Flexeril and Vicodin, all of which helped to an extent. I did finally get the pain under control enough so that it wasn't hurting as badly if I just held still. I apologize for this being so long, but I wanted to make sure that I had explained what had happened clearly enough so that maybe someone out there might have a clue to what's going on. My mom is forcing me to call Dr. Heffez as soon as his office opens this morning. Under any other circumstance, I would just wait it out, but Sunday morning, I leave for 3 months to tour with a musical group. Yikes! This morning it is better, but my range of motion is extremely limited and if I push it past the comfortable point, it feels like my muscles are pulling on that side, and it's extremely painful! I don't have time for this, I can barely move my head! Does anyone have a clue to what's going on? Please help! Thanks so much everyone. Hugs! (very gentle ones!), R.
