Guest guest
This is what is so crazy-making about the diet industry. Sometimes I wonder if they do it on purpose. There are so many conflicting messages out there. I try not to even listen any more. No wonder I have so much food anxiety. For a long time I wanted to do the right thing and was very conscious of eating healthy, and hoping I would lose weight as a consequence of that. But I could not get to the correct information because everything contradicted itself. It disgusts me and makes me very ANGRY! As far as full fat goes, I eat what tastes good and what I like. I recently tried some full fat yogurt and it was YUK! I prefer the low fat variety. However, I could never tolerate fat free cheese. To me it is an oxymoron, like fat free half and half. What the heck is in THAT stuff.....? I have never really gotten into the whole fat-free thing, I am more of a low carb girl, so I witness a troop of military police circling whenever I get near cake and cookies ! I have been trying to shut them up by eating plenty of cake and cookies. Not sure if it is working or not. > > I have been reading a book called The Mood Cure that's theory is that > most of the Nations bad moods and need for anti depression medicine > is related to the low/no fat obession most people have these days. > Here are two articles about it > > http://www.preventionisbest.com/site/saturatedfat.html > > http://tierneylab.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/21/good-news-on- saturated- > fat/ > > Even after reading and wanting to believe these articles my " fat > police " still are after me about all the fat I'm eating. Guest guest
This is one I also have problems with. When I was actively dieting, my kitchen was filled with fat free dairy, salad dressing, cheese and low calorie items chocked full of chemicals. I believed that all the chemicals were less dangerous than being fat - but eating them wasn't making me any thinner! Full fat cheese was one of the things I legalized right away. I like the 2% cheese when cooking, but for eating out of hand I like the real deal. I also brought back butter, preflavored low fat yogurts because my diet of choice only allowed plain FF yogurt that you added your own chemicals to, cereal and good chewy whole grain bread. What a joy it was to eat a piece of bread that wasn't 50% air! :-) > > > > I have been reading a book called The Mood Cure that's theory is > that > > most of the Nations bad moods and need for anti depression medicine > > is related to the low/no fat obession most people have these days. > > Here are two articles about it > > > > http://www.preventionisbest.com/site/saturatedfat.html > > > > http://tierneylab.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/21/good-news-on- > saturated- > > fat/ > > > > Even after reading and wanting to believe these articles my " fat > > police " still are after me about all the fat I'm eating.
