Guest guest
Hi everyone! Well I will say that working in the shelter and going to school are " triggers " for me as far as smoking goes, so I did eat when I wasn't hungry last night because I was fighting the smoking urge. I immediately realized that I was eating when I didn't want food, and stopped but I did dig in quite a bit before this kicked in. But the good news is that I am still smoke free. Here are my current stats: Your Quit Date is: 9/8/2008 10:30:00 PM Time Smoke-Free: 12 days, 14 hours, 58 minutes and 37 seconds Cigarettes NOT smoked: 189 Lifetime Saved: 1 day, 10 hours Money Saved: $34.12 At school & work, I'm so used to going outside to indulge in a smoke to let off steam, and now I am fighting it tooth and nail, the urge to just throw in the towel, and adding in avoiding the urge to eat mindlessly to fill the " void " I'm doubly struggling. I think I'm doing OK and I am trying to be extra nice to myself. I felt a little hungry this morning, I had a small bagel, but now I am satisfied still from that so have no need to eat lunch, I may wait until I get to work and see how I feel and have some dinner, or a healthy snack and plenty of water (because I love it). I did notice last night that I was more productive on my school work (I had a coworker with me so I actually did some school work @ work) because I was focused on not smoking and replacing that with eating food I didn't need. I still haven't got the IE book, I will have to wait until payday or until I can get to the library, I am using the website for a lot of great information though. ~*~Whitney~*~ Feminism is the radical notion that women are people. Guest guest
Whitney: Keep it up, you can do it. You are way ahead of where I was when I quit. I just full-out substituted eating for smoking. I wish I would have had this resource then. You inspired me to go look at my stats, which I haven't seen in a long time. Here they are: My Stats: Your Quit Date is: 11/4/2002 2:45:00 PM Time Smoke-Free: 2148 days, 1 hour, 51 minutes and 39 seconds Cigarettes NOT smoked: 42962 Lifetime Saved: 10 months, 28 days, 4 hours Money Saved: $8,592.00 Wow, 43,000 cigarettes not smoked, can you imagine?!! I often wonder what that would look like if you piled all of them in a pile. It would probably take up my whole house. You are almost at two weeks, that is great. A resource that I found most helpful was www.whyquit.com. Hang in there,it is so worth it to get that monkey off your back. I am routing for you!! Guest guest
Wow congrats to both of you - that is great to hear!! It's better than walking around with an oxygen tank for the next umpteen years. Keep up the good work. I wish my sister-in-law could quit she did for a short time after her best friend died of lung cancer at the age of 42. Thanks, J. > > Whitney: > > Keep it up, you can do it.
