so i spoke to the compounding pharmacy in hopewell new jersey. the

pharmacists there are totally knowledgeable about SCD.

i just learned in order to make an scd compliant pill according to

them it will contain " Avicel aka Microcrystalline Cellulose "

which according to google:

Avicel:

link:

http://www.nutramed.com/modularnutrition/avicel.htm

Avicel is microcrystalline cellulose. In water Avicel forms a

three-dimensional matrix comprised of millions of insoluble

microcrystals that form an extremely stable, thixotropic gel. Avicel

is made by FMC BioPolymer who maintains ISO certification on a global

basis. Avicel has been in use for 35 years in the food,

pharmaceutical and specialty industries Avicel stabilizes oil-water

emulsions and thickens the formula mixed. In an aqueous system, the

3-dimensional matrix effectively suspends particulates.

Avicel microcrystalline cellulose is a good source of dietary fiber,

with negligible calories. Avicel is virtually inert and will not

interfere or interact with other nutrients added to the foods for

fortification, such as vitamins and minerals. Avicel is a suspending

agent for heavy particulates such as ferrous gluconate and other

mineral salts.

and the almighty wiki has an entry as well:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microcrystalline_cellulose

when i receive the med's in the mail that were ordered for me i will

see what liquid/oil they were made in and i'll post it.

i asked for an exact list of ingredients.

next time i hope to speak to the pharmacist on the phone directly.

and totally bombard him with questions!
