Because of ongoing puffy inflammation in the colon which narrows the

tract.

Yes, as healing advances, inflammation ought to reduce, unless

something else is

going on as well.

Sandy,

I've been on SCD for one month now and I am severely lactose

intolerant. The good news is that I can tolerate small amounts of

the hard legal cheeses. The bad news is that I cannot tolerate the

dccc or yogurt, not even the goat's milk yogurt. I started with

just 1 tsp. per day but by the time I got to 1 Tbspn, I was not

feeling well at all.

I just got some dairy free Lactobacillus Acidophilus capsules (took

my first half a dose yesterday and all seems to be well). Plan B is

to try making yogurt from almond milk or coconut milk. I hope I can

get to goat's milk in a couple of months. My advice to your friend

is to be very cautious with food made from " the fruit of the cow. "

I'm happy to chat directly with her if she wants to mail me off list.

This may be a silly question, but If she is lactose intolerant...she

sould still be able to follow the diet by eatting little amounts of

the legal cheeses, dccc and yogurt right? I told her that I

thought the way that we make our yogurt that there is minimul

lactose right? and should she use goats milk then?
