Joanne,

Thanks for the response and for sharing. I suppose I should be

grateful that she doesn't have a child although I'm sure you love your

grandaughter very much. I know therre are others of us out there who are

suffering. I guess I just have felt a need to connect right now because

of the recent episode. Reminding me about detaching is a good thing. I

am staying in touch with her by phone to let her know I care and support

her desire to reach sobriety again, but I am also trying to get on with

my own life again. Thanks again for the response and for sharing.

Pat

Dear Trish,

I have been pretty quiet but have been reading the posts for 3 groups, but by

far LifeOnTheBorder is the most active. It has quite a few knowledgeable and

caring members going through the same things as you. Most of their children are

teenage girls... but going thru the same thing. I can guarantee a response very

quickly.

I have a 30yo married daughter with identical twin sons that will be 2 next

month. They are now out of my life for a while because someone here stepped

over that invisible line. She has moved about 12 hours away and we have no

communication right now. This has happened before... but I will hear from her

eventually. I miss the grandchildren and just pray things are going weel for

her family. I wish I would have had groups like LOTB when my daughter was a

teenager.

Don't give up and if you haven't already, read " Stop Walking on Eggshells " . It

is an excellent book. And, always remember to take care of yourself.

Nana

Jodi,

And THAT is why the long-term people stay and help. We remember, all too

well, what it was like to be exhausted, to not enjoy life day to day, to

make mistakes.

Seeing a post like yours, where you have enjoyed life again, is a top

mark payment!

eileen, WOW! even though my marriage with my ex husband didn't work out (divorce was final thursday) we are still really good friends and he has always supported everything i did 100% and was my biggest ally in staying with whatever i was doing. i hope yours comes around!!!! i've been med free since Jan 8. Mostly symptom free since starting the intro diet. i added yogurt and farmer's cheese and one of them has been giving me some pain so i cut them both out and am going to try adding yogurt back in more slowly and if i'm ok with it, then add farmer's cheese to see which was the culprit. since they were both intro items, i thought it would be safe to tadd them at the same time. on the same note, i could have just been adding too much yogurt at one time. i only have moderate to severe crohn's leaning more toward moderate (i think anyway) so i think the diet just worked

faster for me. though i know i'm not in remission yet. hope the rest of your weekend is great! misty kimble walker, la cd scd - jan 5 08blackguitarmaker wrote: misty I think we started the same week! and I was glad to read you haven't moved too far either - not for your sake LOL! but it gets frustrating and hubby thinking nothing is improving isn't helping!the most i get is a few better moments here/there

I am celiac and mod crohns actually mild recently on camera test - so

I can't understand why I don't get to feel good too :-(

I know it will come - just some more good moments would be lovely

and I didn't mean to make hubby sound horrible -LOL!!

he knows I'm going to stick with it - he would be a pill person

though and he said IF a doc said meds plus this would I - what if

it's been 2 years and your still sick that type of stuff - but he

even said he's help when he's off with carrot peeling etc so I guess

he sees me doing all this and not feeling much different yet- he's

just anxious for a well wife/mommy to the kids but will stick by when

it comes down to it

thanks

take care

I just put yogurt in 1 tsp every 3 hours yesterday

1 tbs every 2-3 today with an enzyme of course and so far so good -

farmers cheese never really bugged me I don't think (but maybe i'll

look back nausea wise) i'm always judging by did it give me gas or

anything - will look into that farther - happy to have more options

but want more healing :-)

there are so many people that would rather just take a pill that gets rid of the symptoms than changing anything in their lives. they use the pill as a bandaid that only covers the symptoms and don't care about finding a "cure". no one i know would EVER do this. they are all pill people. everyone knows someone like that... a diabetic, a person with high cholesterol or heart problems. when all they need to do is change their diet and they could eventually get off the meds. it aggravates me so much....!!!!! honestly, i applaud everyone that takes control of their health and stops relying 100% on the medical community that only tries to find ways to cover up your symptoms instead of finding a cure (when the cure is most often a diet change). though i understand when medicine is the difference between life/death, living in constant pain, or something other medically NECESSARY reason. </end rant LOL> you'll get

there. you have 2 things against you and i'm sure that makes it so much harder. wish you and your family the best. even though my ex husband was/is supportive, he'd have never helped me unless i asked. oh, and i WASN'T asking!!
