Guest guest
Not all schools will charge the parent the extra if the tuition agreement was already established and signed prior to the increase. Our program is set up to accept what ever amount McKay pays to educate the kids. We usually do not ask for any additional funds from the parents. We were just informed last week, that the funds for the McKay scholarships were being cut by 6% accross the board. What this may mean to you as a parent is this. Many of the private schools your children may attend in the fall have a set tuition that everyone must pay. Therefore if for example the schools tuition for the year is $10,000 for anyone that attends, and your McKay scholarship is only send them $5,000, then you will have to pay the rest out of pocket.Since McKay does not notify the parents about the cuts, I felt that I would let you know. You m ight want to check with the school you have your child enrolled in for the fall and find out if this cut is going to affect how much you must pay out of pocket for the education of your child. If you have any questions you can contact me via list or on my personal email at: icepeguinmsn (DOT) comI hope I have helped those of you using the McKay funds and those of you who are considering using the McKay funds.Janet
