Guest guest Posted October 4, 2002 Report Share Posted October 4, 2002 Ann, We went from 750 mg of depakote and we are at 375 a day now. It was very difficult and the lower we got the worse it went. We weaned 1 pill every month and then when we got to 500, we weaned a 1/2 a pill every 2-3 weeks. We did not have any seizures during the weans but we had very irritable moods, sleeping more etc. its been awhile. But, when we tried to go from 375 to 250, it was terrible. We did have some seizures and he started to regress. So, we went back up for awhile and have decided to sit tight for awhile and give his brain a chance to adjust. The key is take it slow. Don't rush it. I would spread the time between weans and the amount you are weaning the closer you get down to the goal of 0. Just my .02 cents.
