Our Supporters Contributed Over $10,000 to Launch the Campaign Against GE Salmon!

A genetically engineered salmon, next to a non-GE salmon of the same age.Take this new action to ensure genetically engineered salmon aren't approved!Thanks to supporters like you, we've raised over $10,000 to launch our new campaign to stop genetically engineered salmon from reaching our plates. We're working to submit 50,000 comments to the Food & Drug Administration for the new comment period on this issue. Can you tell the FDA that they shouldn't approve this genetically engineered fish, let alone decide not to label it?If genetically engineered salmon is approved, would you even know? The FDA would not require GE salmon to be labeled under the current law. We already have a tough enough time figuring out which peanuts are safe to eat, which cheese is free from artificial growth hormones and what seafood is the healthiest and most sustainable. Allowing GE salmon and not requiring labels violates our ability to make healthy and environmentally sustainable choices about the food we eat.The FDA is moving fast. We only have a few weeks to be heard -- the FDA's comment period on the labeling of GE salmon ends November 22, 2010.
