Guest guest
It may take a long time, you have to work your way up slowly. I think they say start with 1/8 of a tsp. and go with that a few days, then slowly work up to the amount you want. You could take acidolpholus supplements and see how you do with those. Some people I've read just don't tolerate it very often. Guest guest
Hi, When I started, I had to find a core group of foods and stay basically with that for a long time. This included the intro foods. I couldn't tolerate spinach for a long time. I'm actually just now going to try it again. Farmer's Cheese has never bothered me (thank goodness) so it's always been a staple. Some of the folks use the charts on pecanbread to go by when introducing foods. That didn't really work for me because a lot of the stage 1 foods, I couldn't eat. I don't know what your tolerances are on fruit and vegetables. With me, nothing fibrous like butternut squash or pumpkin. Most do well with those. I ate a lot of frozen lima beans cooked in chicken stock and carrots cooked until very soft. Cuts of meat instead of ground meat seemed easier for me also so a lot of roasted chicken. Maybe you can list what foods you are currently eating for the moderators like Carol and Marilyn. They may be able to help you with adding new foods in. If you haven't checked out the stages on pecanbread.com, you may want to do that. Also, there is a list called scdinfo which is great. I joined all the lists at first then scaled down at the one year mark. Hope that helps. Sometimes it's slow going in the beginning. Guest guest
Hi, I get baby frozen lima beans and cook them in chicken stock. I let them cook awhile to make sure they are soft. On the butternut, acorn and other squashes--you may be able to tolerate them. Most seem ok with them but I can't for some reason. The same with pumpkin. If you can tolerate the two avocado and two bananas a day, that's great. I found avocados to be too much fiber for me for a long time but I just eat half of one then wait a day or three (seriously) before eating more. I've always eaten them--just not that much at once. If it works for you, it's a good fat so eat up. I can't do the two bananas a day either but I love banana pancakes :-). If you can eat it, go for it because it's really good for you. The chicken soup (chicken, carrots, then eventually onions and sometimes celery which got tossed out before I ate it), chicken stock with everything (I swear it's medicinal), homemade yogurt and parmesan really saved me in the beginning then I could eat more and maintain. Marilyn and Carol are awesome, they'll have lots of food ideas. Just take it slow.
