Guest guest
Hi Bev, how absolutely true! It is sad but soooo true. I do get much better care from health care professionals now that I am thinner. It is absolutely true that they take what you say seriously, and they don't ascribe all of your ills to your weight. Isn't it exasperating? When you talk about body image I remembered that as I was losing weight I was actually unhappy that I had to shop in the normal sizes. I felt kind of left out or sort of " you don't belong to this club anymore " when I couldn't shop in Lane or the large size section. I was happy that I was losing but I had lost my bearings. I didn't really know where to go in the store and I didn't feel comfortable. To this day it feels strange to look at a medium or even a small and feel that it is too big for me. I think that this whole body image thing is so odd, because I truly have trouble seeing what I really look like, or understanding what I really look like.
